The Muppet Experiment

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

We’ve just finished development on The Muppet Experiment alternate reality game. This is a unique concept where the player must start the game inside the website, and finish it by performing a secret mission inside Disneyland Park®. The game can actually be quite challenging at times, making for a very exciting experience, combining Google Maps, music knowledge, and web searches.

This experiment will only be live for a limited time, so don’t miss out. You must register for a My Disneyland account, which you can get on The Muppet Experiment website.

Disneyland Holidays

The Holidays at Disneyland website is now up and live for a limited time, so go take a look at it! The colors, movement, and music all melt together to create an beautifully festive experience. In the words of a coworker, “It makes me want eggnog.”

If you’d like a little surprise, try typing “snow” blindly after you’ve clicked anywhere inside the website. Then listen for the seagull.

Rules of a Good Level

Saturday, November 8th, 2008

While reading an interview of always-inspirational 2D Boy (World of Goo), Kyle Gabler said this

  1. No level can rely on luck or randomness. Luck causes frustration!
  2. No level can be like any other level. Always introduce something new.
  3. Every level must be visually distinct and iconic. Helps build them fiction of the world.

I decided that I will take these rules to heart in my Citrus Engine level-building escapades.
