Starbucks, the Social Oxymoron

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

“…Seattle has unleashed this weird phenomenon upon the world, called the coffee shop. The coffee shop, thanks to Starbucks, is the place where socially isolated, lonely, needy people gather together to ignore one another. That is so weird! So all these people who are lonely, go to the coffee shop to open up their laptop, and to drink their burnt coffee, and put their iPods in their ears so they can ignore one another in community.”

Welcome to the Blueflame Blog!

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

Starting a new Blog is daunting. While I’m generally good at creating habits, I’ve never had a blog that has made it past kindergarten. However, everyone who is anyone in design and development has some way of sharing their experiences and tips with the rest of the community. I believe it’s a crucial way to make a name for myself, so it will begin here.

My initial goals for this blog are:

  • Provide a reference to for web design and development tips covering topics ranging from XHTML to Actionscript to XSLT.
  • Provide links to places that fellow readers will find interesting.
  • Keep readers up to date on new Blueflame developments.

If you care anything for me and my future, you’ll subscribe to the Blueflame blog. Look forward to many innovations starting right….now.
